Demystifying GDPR

A talk designed to unravel the complexities of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by looking at the rules, responsibilities and obligations of GDPR through the prism of credible and realistic scenarios.

Data protection laws have undergone the most significant overhaul in the past 20 years.  The EU GDPR became law in all EU Member States on 25 May 2018.

GDPR imposes legal obligations and responsibilities on organisations as well as affords new rights to those whose personal data is being collected, analysed and stored.  Although the headlines suggest that major financial penalties could be imposed for non-compliance (whichever is the greater of €20M or 4% of gross global turnover for the previous year), there is a wide range of investigative and corrective powers that the individual Member State regulatory bodies responsible for enforcing GDPR can deploy.  It is absolutely vital, therefore, that your organisation not only fully understands the complexities of GDPR but that it also has in place effective and suitable processes and procedures as early as possible in order to be compliant and deal with any issues that might arise.

This webinar will aim to demystify those complexities as well as provide practical and effective direction arrows and pathways to enable your organisation to become GDPR compliant and maintain a continuous development of your data management processes and procedures.
